In 2008, millions of individual voices calling for change became a chorus that simply
could not be silenced.

Two years later, a Supreme Court decision could render us mute.

The Citizens United case gives corporations a license to hijack democracy. This Supreme
Court decision will allow them to spend an unlimited amount of money campaigning for
candidates who will fight for their interests. How can our interests ? the interests of
the American people ? compete?

We can fret. Or we can fight. While a single individual could never outshout an entrenched
special interest, thousands of individuals speaking in unison can. We can ? and we will ?
drown out the corporate spin ? but not without your voice.

corporations would look like, just think back to the fall of 2008.

Bush and Co. checked out, and corporate overlords were left in charge, bringing our
economy to the brink of destruction. Consequential decisions were made based on greed, not
the greater good. The house of cards built during years of neglect came tumbling down in a
spectacular crash.

Now those same special interests that drove us into the ditch will drive our national
debate. Oil and gas firms, big banks, health insurance companies ? all have been given
rights previously afforded only to citizens.

Throughout our history, one truth has remained remarkably constant: When Americans' rights
are denied, Americans fight back. Our rights are in the process of being denied. Join me
